VANCA does not replace the services listed below. We help veterans understand where those supports may fit and connect them with trusted resources when possible. The categories below are referral areas — not VANCA direct services.

Housing resources

VAC homelessness prevention programs, CMHC options, provincial housing programs, and community housing referrals. These are specialized services VANCA does not provide directly.

Mental health and peer support

OSI clinics, VAC mental health benefits and coverage, peer support programs, and clinician referrals. VANCA does not provide mental health treatment or counselling.

Crisis and emergency resources

Call 911 for immediate danger. Call or text 988 for Canada-wide crisis support (24/7). VAC Assistance Service: 1-800-268-7708 for free, confidential psychological support for veterans, former RCMP members, families, and caregivers. VANCA is not a crisis or emergency service.

Legal and representation supports

Bureau of Pensions Advocates, legal aid clinics, and veteran legal support organizations. VANCA does not provide legal representation or legal advice.

Financial counselling and income support

Organizations that provide financial planning, income support guidance, and emergency financial assistance. VANCA does not provide financial advice or emergency funds.

Employment and education supports

VAC Education and Training Benefit, career transition programs, and employment support resources.

Family and caregiver resources

Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs), caregiver support programs, and family-focused veteran service organizations.

Indigenous veteran supports

Indigenous-led and Indigenous-focused veteran organizations and programs.

Women veteran supports

Organizations and programs focused on the specific needs of women who have served.

Rural and remote supports

Virtual and remote-accessible services for veterans and families outside urban centres.

Provincial and community programs

Province-specific disability programs, income supports, and community services that may apply based on where you live.

Information provided by VANCA does not guarantee eligibility, approval, reassessment, review, appeal, or benefit outcome. Official decisions are made by the responsible government department, tribunal, insurer, or benefit provider.
